The Imaginative Action Regime / Los Angeles Project
in 2006, I developed an unofficial abstract organization that calls for creative social change.
inspired by several SDS uprisings and its anarchaic splinterings that occurred in the 1960s, this organization, called The Imaginative Action Regime, explores the absurdity of how possibility and peace sometimes turns militant.
in the US, often, we are seen as a visual culture that is fueled by dualism and juxtaposition. we are constantly flipping channels. as citizens, we find ourselves flailing around helplessly in isolation or anxiety about atomic muck. we feel disconnected from our rights, neighborhoods, and government. this does not have to be the case.
The Los Angeles Project is brought to you by The Imaginative Action Regime and myself. our intention is not political-- it's personal. regarding the human condition, under this heading, we examine the intimate (amazing) potential of invisibility between indivduals. how do we share information with one another and how do we build image/relationships, despite these varying policy views?
unlike The Manhattan Project, we are trying to use our creative energy to build more so than destroy.
overall, The Los Angeles Project is a series of experiments in translating, looking, and exploring creative consciousness in the nuclear age.
