fiction

Most of my fiction writing circles around concepts of shared cultural histories and personal relationships. I am interested in the mythology of nonfiction and how popular culture imposes on our own individual sense of identity. I am especially focused on the female perspective in the arts and how we create, use, or manage aggression in relation to history. You can view an excerpt from my latest endeavor here.

articles

I have written articles for nationally distributed print magazines such as BUST or Venus Zine and web-based publications such as Flavorpill. On a more experimental note, I am also dedicated to infusing journalistic approaches with creative writing practices. "Eileen Myles and Other Outfits," a piece I wrote for Slack Lust, is a stylistic example of this hybrid form.

essays

I enjoy the process of interviewing and the challenge of writing more critical essays on contemporary artists. My most recent essay on the work of Don Nace is available here. "The Artist and Her Muse," a piece I wrote on the photography of Wanrudee Buranakorn, has been translated into Thai, published in the artist's retrospective catalogue, and is reprinted here (in Engish).
